The Canada-BC Agri-Innovation Program is designed to accelerate the pace of agrifood related innovation to enhance the sector’s competitiveness, sustainability, productivity and resiliency.
Innovation funding supports projects related to:

Farm Adaptation Innovator Program
The Farm Adaptation Innovator Program (FAIP) seeks to build adaptive capacity and encourage the adoption of effective farm practices to help mitigate impacts related to climate change by supporting projects that:
- Promote innovation in farm practices, approaches and technologies that support climate change adaptation
- Demonstrate farm practices that reduce weather related production risks, and identify new production opportunities
- Develop informational and knowledge sharing resources and support increased sector capacity to support adaptation
Greenhouse Carbon Tax Relief Grant
The BC government is providing carbon tax relief to commercial greenhouses. The grant covers 80 per cent of the carbon tax paid on natural gas and propane used for greenhouse heating and CO2 production.
Innovation in Agriculture
The government innovation programs aim to transform ideas into new and sustainable solutions for the agrifood sector. The programs enable the development, piloting, commercialization and adoption of new products, practices, processes and technologies, making producers and processors more competitive and sustainable.
