The Comox Valley boasts a wide range of institutions that support a diversified and skilled workforce including the largest campus of North Island College, International education programs, and private colleges.
Comox Valley Schools currently has 15 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 5 secondary schools, 1 alternative school, and a distributed learning school.
International students can enroll in the school district’s International Student Program. There are several different program options for prospective students to choose from including high school graduation, short term high school, and summer exchange programs.
North Island College offers approximately 1,140 individual courses, and approximately 230 credit programs. North Island College has 4 campuses and 4 learning centres. From Campbell River to Bella Coola on BC’s central coast to Ucluelet on Vancouver Island’s west coast, with its administrative centre on the beautiful 64 acre Courtenay campus.
North Island College International offers several options for international students looking to complete their post-secondary education.
Excel Career College is a private post-secondary college that has been providing education to the community since 1989. Excel is registered and accredited with the Private Post-Secondary Education Commission of BC, and in compliance with the Private Post-Secondary Education Act. Excel offers full-time college programs, corporate training, an aquaculture technician course, a basic security training course, computer and business courses, and private instruction.
Sprott Shaw College has 130+ college programs, and provides small class sizes, qualified instructors, hands-on training and a friendly appropriate learning environment for students of all ages. The curriculum includes office, healthcare, tourism, hospitality, business, administrative and international studies.
