Fireweed Farmstead is a family farm located in the heart of Merville. We are passionate about producing nutritious, naturally-grown, and most importantly really tasty food! Our vision is to provide our community and visitors with a memorable experience of learning, laughing, and eating.
Products include naturally grown tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers (including pickling), strawberries, garlic, eggs, pasture-raised pork and other seasonal veggies and fruits. Our farmstand is open weekends 10am to 6pm (October to May) and Wednesday-Sunday 10am to 6pm (June to September). You can also find us at the Merville Gumboot Market on Mondays (4 - 6:30pm) during the summer. We are a 10 minute drive north of Courtenay on the Old Island highway between the Merville Store and Merville Hall. We are located North of Courtenay, just off the old island Highway.

We grow and pick fresh daily a variety of in season vegetables in our fields and greenhouses, including tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, carrots, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, a wide variety of potatoes, 17 varieties of corn and lots more. Our market is open from late May to early November. Hours are 10am to 6pm May to September, and 10am to 5pm October and November. For potatoes during the winter, please give us a call.

Raising Certified Organic meat means in addition to our land, our animals' feed is ALWAYS GMO-free, free from herbicides and pesticides like glyphosate (which are common residues on conventional grain), free from antibiotics, hormones and chemical fertilizers.
